2018 "Crazy. Gods. Chronicles 6" Daoist Cultural Event
The 2018 "Crazy. Gods. Chronicles 6" Daoist Cultural Event is set to officially commence on October 14. This event continues to be guided by the Wenshan District Office of Taipei City and the Taipei Daoist Association, with full planning and hosting by Yuanta Dao Hall.
The event builds upon its annual theme: introducing traditional Daoist culture and promoting correct faith concepts. It incorporates cultural and ritual activities from various temples, fostering public engagement and temple visits to introduce the customs, ceremonies, and related Daoist knowledge of venerating the gods.
Scheduled Activities
November 8 (Thursday): Muzha Lingzhen Temple
December 8 (Saturday): Xingfuyan Qingshui Zushi Temple
At both events, the Yuanta Daoist Chanting Group will perform sacred chants and rituals to honor and express gratitude to the deities of participating temples. On-site activities include a charity raffle and a stamp card collection event, with stamp cards redeemable at the closing ceremony held on December 15 at Wanxing Elementary School.
Event Design
The design of the "Crazy. Gods. Chronicles" events integrates modern 3C technology usage habits with the introduction of traditional historical culture to appeal to participants of all ages—young, middle-aged, and elderly alike. The event encourages everyone to step outdoors, explore local cultural features, rediscover traditional Daoist practices, and connect history with modern life.
By adopting a vibrant and engaging approach, we aim to dispel traditional stereotypes and misconceptions about Daoism, creating a harmonious and joyful society.
A Call to Action
We sincerely invite individuals from all sectors to participate in this celebration, continue contributing enthusiasm, and join hands in ushering in a new era of culture and community life in Wenshan District.
