緣起

『瘋 神 紀』~fun

紅屬火：火是八卦中的離卦，而中國古代醫師將瘟疫寒痢這類疾病歸為巽卦，巽卦為風，在五行中表示木，用八卦中的離火化解巽木，寓意把瘟疫寒疾驅散化滅。從傳統信仰角度:在中國古代傳統文化中，雷神是懲罰罪惡之神。凡有違背人倫法理目犯下不可饒恕罪責者，則將遭受五雷轟頂而斃亡，這便是“天打雷劈”的典故。同時在道教里火神雷神的司職就是主滅瘟疫，雷火之炁，驅散瘟疫，正炁内守，邪不可干，千古大道。懸「葫」濟世:葫蘆者，福祿也。葫蘆藤蔓綿延，果實累累，籽粒繁多，視其為子孫繁盛之祥物。葫蘆諧音「福祿」「護祿」，象徵富貴吉祥，健康長壽。葫蘆「S」形如太極陰陽分界線的神奇功能，驅魔辟邪的靈物，現代氣功測試證明，葫蘆有隔絶氣場功能。神仙(醫) 都身背葫背葫蘆或腰葫蘆，民語有「不知葫蘆里賣的什麼藥」，意旨葫蘆常用來裝藥用。

Origin

Red Represents Fire:In the Bagua， fire corresponds to the Li Trigram (離). In ancient Chinese medicine， diseases like epidemics and cold-induced dysentery were classified under the Xun Trigram (巽)， which represents wind and corresponds to wood in the Five Elements. Using the fire of the Li Trigram to counteract the wood of the Xun Trigram symbolizes the dispersal and eradication of such illnesses.

From a traditional belief perspective， in ancient Chinese culture， the God of Thunder was considered a deity who punished evil. Those who committed unforgivable crimes against human morality and the law would face divine retribution， often described as being struck by the ""five thunders，"" leading to their demise. This is the origin of the saying “struck by heavenly lightning” (天打雷劈).

In Daoism， the duties of the Fire God and Thunder God include the destruction of epidemics. The energy of thunder and fire is believed to disperse plagues， maintain righteous energy within， and repel evil， embodying an eternal universal truth.

The Hanging ""Gourd"" for Universal Relief: The gourd (葫蘆)， also known as a symbol of blessings and fortune， is considered a sacred object. Its trailing vines and abundant fruits symbolize prosperity and the flourishing of descendants. The gourd's name is phonetically similar to “blessings and fortune” (福祿) and “protection and blessings” (護祿)， representing wealth， auspiciousness， health， and longevity.

The gourd's “S” shape， resembling the dividing line between yin and yang in the Tai Chi symbol， gives it mystical properties as a talisman to ward off evil. Modern qigong tests have demonstrated the gourd's ability to block disruptive energy fields.

In folklore， immortals and traditional healers often carry a gourd on their back or waist. This is reflected in the popular saying， “What medicine is sold in the gourd?” (葫蘆里賣的什麼藥)， indicating that gourds were commonly used to store medicinal remedies."
